Alek never considered himself as "ill" with MS - just as living with growing disabilities. He was happy and content to be alive. On our journey through MS we met wonderful people who have supported us every step of the way: from physios to OTs; from everyone at the GP surgery - especially Dr Elwood, to those who came and cared for Alek in our home, both health and social care workers; district nurses and continuing healthcare teams; and especially the MS team of nurses with Dr Lowman, consultant neurologist in Cardiff. The staff at Prince Charles hospital on Ward 11 who cared for him in his final days allowed him to die with dignity, peacefully in my arms, with his mother and brother by his side. Alek would say, be happy, remember the good times - of which there will be infinite memories. I am so proud and privileged to think that Alek chose me to be his wife. I love my cwtchling Alek.
